Delta Head Start & Early Head Start

Delta Head Start/Early Head Start is a birth to 5 federal program for low-income families.  Children who attend Head Start/Early Head Start participate in a variety of educational activities.  They also receive free medical, dental care, have healthy meals and snacks, enjoy playing indoor and outdoor in a safe setting.

Delta Head Start/Early Head Start offers free, high quality child development services to income eligible families with children 4 months to 5 years old.  Delta Head Start/Early Head Start is a child-focused learning program, but also provides comprehensive services to the child’s family.  Our staff members refer families from needing help to employment assistance, GED, and other resources.

Before you can enroll your child/children in the Head Start or Early Head Start Program- you must meet the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services income guidelines.  For example, for a family of 4, the total household income must be at or below $24,250.  Delta Head Start/Early Head Start will however accept families that are over this guideline by 10% only after all income eligible families are served.  Also, we accept families with a child or children with a diagnosed disability.
